TRAINING FOR PROFESSIONALS
Professional training is available to law enforcement, court personnel, attorneys, nurses and
medical staff, public health staff, social services personnel, teachers and school personnel,
clergy, and other professional groups who are likely to encounter victims. These trainings
generally include such information as:
- The dynamics of the particular type of abuse being discussed
- Increased sensitivity to victims/victims blaming
- Specific tools the professional can use to assist victims
- Advocacy services available to help professionals and victims
- Relevant materials and handouts.
Continuing education credits can generally be arranged; sessions can be tailored to cover time
frames from one hour to two days.
