
Volunteer Advocate
Duties include:
- Provide a client a safe space within which s/he can be in crisis.
- Listening.
- Asking a client what their needs are.
- Respecting her/his limits.
- Providing resources and refferal information.
- Encouraging her/him to help themselves and their children.
- Acknowledging her.him for hard work accomplished.
- Calling agencies on a client's behalf when s/he requests your help.
- Being honest.
- Empathaizing with her/him.
- Recognizing that each client reacts differently to crisis.
- Focusing, clarifying, being hoenst, real and present.
- Having a support system for yourself.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Cover the crisis line on a regular basis.
- Attend a 56 hour training.
- Assist clients with needs identified by them.
- Attend monthly Advocate meetings.
- Make a one year commitment.
- Keep in contact with volunteer coordinator as needed.
- Complete 6 hours of continuing education per year.
- Fill out any necessary forms.
- Meet with Coordinator yearly for evaluation.
- Support social change to end violence in our community and society.

General Office Volunteer

Duties:
- Answer Phones
- Greet clients
- File
- Clean offices
- Help distribute and collect donations
- Help with mailing of used ink cartridges and cellular phones.
